I suppose when you have the greatness that is Lin-Manuel Miranda and Opetaia Foa’i behind the soundtrack, you’re bound to hear something phenomenal. The physical attributes of the characters spoke well to the people. There was the perfect mix of the darkness in many of the stories as well as the whimsy and otherworldly details. Disney did a fantastic job capturing the lore and adapting it to a family-friendly audience. Having grown up around a flourishing Pacific Islander community, the translation of the culture’s storytelling was beyond compare. The perfect nod to the Pacific Islander culture.
